The Owner – Sam’s Story

In 2003, sisters Sam and Angela opened Mindarie Keys Early Learning School. They have taken pride in providing high quality education and care to children and families in the community. Both Sam and Angela have a genuine love for children and their development. Their vision was to open a centre which focussed on education in a secure, loving home-away-from home environment.

Angela’s background qualification is teaching. She has a Master’s Degree in Education, a Degree in Social Science (Children and Family Studies) and was also a State Registered Nurse. She has three grown up children.

Sam has a Diploma in Children’s Services (Early Childhood Education and Care), a background in business and is the mother of two children. When looking for care for Sam’s two children the sisters realised that other centres did not meet their expectations. They decide to open a centre that could provide high quality learning in a loving environment. Since then, they have become part of the community, well respected and highly recommended by past and present families.

In 2008 they opened Mindarie Keys Outside School Hours and Three Plus Kindy to support children transitioning onto school. Partnering with Mindarie Primary School has given us a deeper understanding of how to prepare children for the next step of their educational journey. Children are confident and well equipped for the new challenges of Kindy and Pre-Primary.

In 2016 Hamersley Early Learning School opened their doors with a passionate focussed team. The first of its kind in the area, Hamersley focuses on providing children with a nature based, holistic environment and learning program.

One of the biggest successes is that all four services have been rated as ‘Exceeding’ the National Standards. Every day we try to continually seeking ways to improve the learning environment for children and be supportive and inspiring to families and the team.

The Team

Our fantastic Educators are carefully chosen to create a secure and nurturing environment, whilst ensuring continuity of care, as we appreciate how important relationships are for your child. We collaborate and share the same ethos and philosophy. Our Educators fulfil many roles in your child’s play. They support learning by scaffolding play through intentional teaching, modelling or planning the curriculum and learning environments. All staff participate in professional development and regular staff meetings to ensure they follow best practice. Most of all, they want your child to have fun!
